How this list is made

The sticker on a case is the hours its own page leads with: half of the game's Steam reviewers had played that long or less when they gave their verdict. A game is here when that is 8 hours or less, three in four of those reviewers had played 16 hours or less, it has 1,000 Steam reviews or more, and at least 80% of the reviewers past Steam's two-hour refund window recommend it. Strategy is a genre Steam's store files it under. The most reviewed come first.

The hours are not a time to beat. Most of these games are short; a few are ones most players put down early, and a game's own page shows which, hour by hour. Nothing is placed by hand, and more games are read every night.
