Questions
- Is there a Steam Replay for every year?
- Steam Replay covers one year at a time. This film covers every year since your account was made: it reads when you unlocked each achievement and when you last played each game, and tells your years in order, from the month you joined to the last two weeks.
- How does it know what I played each year?
- Steam records the moment you unlock every achievement. The film places your games in the years their achievements fall in, finds the finishes from the last story achievement you hold, and counts how long each took from your first achievement in it. Steam never shows when you bought a game or how many hours you played in a given year, so the film never claims either.
- Why are some of my big games missing?
- Games with no achievements, like Dota 2, can't be dated, so they appear together as the hours Steam never put a date on. If your achievements are hidden in Steam's privacy settings, the film can only show the month you joined and what you played lately.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Your profile and game details need to be public. Nothing is saved to an account.
