6 parts, from the opening to the ending. Read it before Rise of the Tomb Raider. This page tells the ending.

Tomb Raider's page

  1. Shipwreck

You were Lara Croft, joining the Endurance expedition to find the lost kingdom of Yamatai. Following your suggestion, the ship entered the Dragon’s Triangle near Japan. A storm wrecked it on an island. Captured and hung inside a scavenger’s cave, you escaped alone. You found your friend Sam with a stranger named Mathias, but both disappeared while you slept.

  2. The Radio Tower

You and archaeologist James Whitman discovered signs of Yamatai’s Sun Queen, Himiko, before armed islanders captured you. You escaped after killing an attacker and reached your wounded mentor, Conrad Roth. He sent you to a radio tower to call for rescue. You made contact, but a sudden storm brought down the approaching plane. Getting a signal out had not secured a way home.

  3. The Fire Ritual

You learned that Mathias led the Solarii, a violent cult, and intended to test Sam as Himiko’s successor. Grim died resisting the cultists while you fought toward their palace. You reached Sam’s ceremony, but Mathias overpowered you. When wind extinguished the flames around her, the cult accepted her as the chosen vessel. You escaped captivity again and fought to free your friends.

  4. Failed Escape

You rescued Sam and sent her away by land. Roth pulled you aboard a rescue helicopter, but another storm wrecked it. He revived you, then died shielding you from Mathias’s attack. You realized the storms prevented escape. At the Endurance wreck, Alex sacrificed himself so you could carry repair tools back to the others. They were preparing a boat on the beach.

  5. The Sun Queen

You returned to find that Whitman had handed Sam back to Mathias. With Jonah and Reyes, you pursued them inland. Himiko’s ancient Stormguard killed Whitman at the monastery. You pieced together the truth: the queen had prolonged her life by transferring her soul into young women. A failed ritual had trapped her in a decaying body. Mathias intended Sam to become her next host.

  6. AscensionThe ending

You fought through the Solarii and Stormguard to reach Sam as the transfer began. You shot Mathias off the monastery roof with two pistols, then burned Himiko’s corpse, stopping the ritual and saving Sam. The storms cleared. You left Yamatai with Sam, Jonah, and Reyes, and a cargo ship rescued you. Having seen the supernatural yourself, you resolved to pursue the truths behind other myths.
