The story of Ori and the Blind Forest

6 parts, from the opening to the ending. Read it before Ori and the Will of the Wisps. This page tells the ending.

Ori and the Blind Forest's page

  1. Swallow's Nest

You were Ori, a small spirit blown from the Spirit Tree during a storm. Naru found you and raised you in Swallow's Nest. Together, you gathered fruit and built a home. Then Nibel withered, and food disappeared. Naru gave you her last food and died. You wandered alone until your strength failed, but the Spirit Tree spent its remaining power to revive you.

  2. The Lost Light

You found Sein, the Spirit Tree's light, in the Sunken Glades. Sein showed you how the owl Kuro had attacked the tree and stolen its light during a ceremony meant to call you home. Her attack had disrupted Nibel's three elements. With Sein beside you, you set out to restore Water, Wind, and Warmth before the forest died completely.

  3. The Ginso Tree

You chased Gumo after he stole the Water Vein needed to enter the Ginso Tree. When his own trap pinned him beneath a rock, you freed him. He returned what he had taken. Inside the tree, you cleansed the corruption and restored Water, then outran the rising flood. Kuro attacked at the summit, but Gumo saved you and left you safely in Thornfelt Swamp.

  4. The Forlorn Ruins

You crossed the Misty Woods for the Gumon Seal and entered the frozen Forlorn Ruins. Gumo's people had died there when Nibel's balance collapsed. You restored Wind and escaped the crumbling ruins using a feather shed by Kuro. In her nest, you discovered her surviving egg and the reason for her hatred: the Spirit Tree's brilliant call had accidentally killed her three hatchlings.

  5. Mount Horu

You continued toward Mount Horu, carrying the Sunstone needed to enter and restore Warmth. Meanwhile, Gumo used the Light Vessel from the ruins to revive Naru, then brought her after you. You rekindled the final element, but Kuro pursued you out of the mountain as fire spread across Nibel. You still needed to return Sein to the Spirit Tree to complete the restoration.

  6. The Spirit TreeThe ending

You were struck down as Kuro seized Sein, but Naru arrived and cradled you. Seeing her love, Kuro remembered her own young and saw that the fire threatened her remaining egg. She returned Sein to the Spirit Tree. Its light extinguished the flames and killed her. You survived in a renewed Nibel. Naru and Gumo returned to Swallow's Nest, where Kuro's rescued egg began to hatch.
