The story of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

5 parts, from the opening to the ending (where it turned on your choices, what every ending shares). Read it before Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus. This page tells the ending.

  1. RuptureFarms

You were Abe, a Mudokon slave who waxed floors at RuptureFarms. One night, you overheard Molluck and the other Glukkons discussing falling profits. Their meat factory had already driven Meeches to extinction. Now they planned to turn their Mudokon workers into Mudokon Pops. You had discovered what the factory's next product really was. You ran before you became part of it.

  2. Beyond the Factory

You fled through a factory whose guards now hunted you. Other Mudokons still worked there, unaware that their employers intended to slaughter them. How many you guided to safety depended on you. Outside RuptureFarms, you saw the shape of a Mudokon hand on the moon. Then you fell from a cliff, and a masked Mudokon called Big Face appeared before you.

  3. The Sacred Trials

You learned from Big Face that escaping was only the beginning. You were meant to save your people, and first you had to survive their spiritual trials. Your journey took you through the Monsaic Lines, the forests of Paramonia and the deserts of Scrabania. You faced the creatures RuptureFarms had turned into products and earned sacred scars representing the Paramite and the Scrab.

  4. Back to RuptureFarms

You returned with both scars and the power to become Shrykull, a devastating divine being. You pushed through RuptureFarms again, working toward the boardroom where you had overheard the plan. The last workers you sent to safety gave you the power for your attack. You unleashed Shrykull against the board, but your escape failed. You were knocked unconscious and captured.

  5. Above the GrinderThe ending

You ended suspended above a meat grinder, with Molluck ordering your death. Your rescue record decided your fate. If you had saved at least fifty Mudokons, their chanting struck Molluck and his guard with lightning. Big Face carried you away to your rescued people. If you had saved fewer, the Mudokons refused to help. You fell into the grinder and died while Molluck laughed.
