  1. Camp Omega

    You were Big Boss, also called Snake, leading the private army Militaires Sans Frontières with Kazuhira Miller. In March 1975, you entered Camp Omega, an American prison in Cuba, to rescue Paz and Chico. Paz had worked for Cipher, your enemy, and knew dangerous secrets about your army. Meanwhile, Mother Base was preparing for a nuclear inspection that Miller already suspected was a trap.

  2. Finding Chico

    You climbed into the base alone as Skull Face and his XOF soldiers departed by helicopter. Chico had been captured trying to rescue Paz. You found him terrified in a prison cage and carried him to safety. You could rescue either prisoner first. If you rescued Chico first, his cassette could help you locate Paz through the sounds recorded during her captivity.

  3. The Boiler Room

    You located Paz alive in the administration building's basement, cut her down, and carried her out. You evacuated both prisoners by helicopter, but Chico noticed a fresh surgical wound on her abdomen. Your medic opened it and found a bomb planted inside her. With no time for anesthetic, he removed the device and threw it clear. You continued toward Mother Base.

  4. Mother Base Falls

    You returned to find Mother Base burning under an XOF assault. The supposed inspection had provided cover for the attack. You landed amid the fighting and helped Miller reach the helicopter as soldiers died around you. Explosives brought down the platforms, sinking the home your army had built. Miller pulled you aboard, and you escaped with him as the base collapsed into the sea.

  5. The Second BombThe ending

    You heard Paz warn that another bomb remained inside her. She jumped from the helicopter, but the blast struck before you could get clear and sent your aircraft into another helicopter. A final recorded interrogation revealed that Skull Face had forced Paz to disclose the hiding place of Cipher's leader, Zero. You and Miller were caught in the crash, with Paz dead and Mother Base destroyed.
