The story of Chaos on Deponia

6 parts, from the opening to the ending. Read it before Goodbye Deponia. This page tells the ending.

  1. Back Into the Rubbish

You were Rufus, still determined to leave the rubbish planet Deponia for Elysium. You intercepted the ascent pod carrying Goal and her fiancé, Cletus, then accidentally ejected her. Cletus’s gunfire severed the pod’s cable. You fell with Goal into the Rust Red Sea, where Captain Bozo and Doc rescued you both.

  2. Three Parts of Goal

You brought Goal to Doc for repairs to her damaged brain implant. The cheap cartridges you supplied split her personality into three separate parts. Lady Goal carried her refined Elysian manners, Spunky Goal her aggression, and Baby Goal her hopeful idealism. Before Doc could reunite them, you needed each personality to agree to another operation.

  3. The Floating Black Market

You won Spunky Goal’s respect by beating her at Platypus Bataka. Baby Goal wanted to help the resistance against the Organon, while Lady Goal preferred sophistication. Seagull, the father who had abandoned you, tried to charm Lady Goal himself. He admitted you were not his biological son: you had been found abandoned in rubbish near Kuvaq. You sabotaged his poetry broadcast and persuaded Lady Goal to accept the procedure.

  4. Donna’s Stolen Body

You returned to find the criminal Donna and her henchmen holding Doc and Goal captive. Using Donna’s own brain implant, you transferred Lady Goal into her body. She killed the henchmen but chose to return to Cletus. She claimed that Elysium needed Deponia’s destruction to power its journey to Utopia, then escaped aboard Donna’s submarine.

  5. The Blast Tower

You pursued Donna’s submarine aboard Bozo’s trawler, but she captured your companions and took them to the Organon’s blast tower. You followed as the resistance attacked. Lady Goal returned to her own body and sided with Cletus. You used Goal’s other personalities in Donna’s body to challenge her, while you confronted Cletus at the bomb controls.

  6. Goal Came BackThe ending

You mistook Cletus’s attempt to disable the bomb for sabotage and started its countdown. He said the explosion would destroy only the tower. Goal initially abandoned you when you confessed, but returned after you fell to the resistance below. You watched Argus’s cruiser escape as the tower exploded. Goal had chosen to stay with you; Deponia’s danger remained unresolved.
